About
CreArte Latino was founded in 2012 as a creative hub for the Latino community in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. In 2016, it became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and increased its performance schedule to four full-length plays annually, one children’s theater production, and added its first Spanglish Improv Comedy show.
Then In 2017, CreArte Latino elected Carolina Franco as President and Artistic Director. Under her guidance, the organization continues to expand programming, youth and adult education options, and artist roster. Our Cultural Center now produces an average of nine plays annually and collaborates with artists from Sarasota and throughout Latin America. In addition to scripted productions, CreArte Latino hosts improvisational theater as well as concerts with Latin performers. Our Board of Directors includes local artists, theater executives, and active members of the community.
